Bill O'Reilly Is Mad, Doggie.

August 19, 2007

A rebuttal to Bill O'Reilly's latest bit of anti-hiphop theater. Background music provided by Max Roach's M'Boom project, an all-percussion ensemble that also included my stepdad, Warren Smith.

I agree 100%. Bill O'Reilly is just showing how credible he REALLY is.

He needs to take the dildo out his ass and start doing his homework before he spends time smashing someone publicly.

How he continues to stay on the air baffles me.

Damnit man - just hearing that man's name ruins my day. It infuriates me that this man gets paid, and worse, that people listen to him...

I'm going to bang my head into a wall now.

Thanks Jay

I just found out about illdoctrine.com from this months Wired [illdoctrine.com is #3 on the Wired Playlist]. Anyway, I came here to check it out and wound up watching all the videos on the front page. Awesome commentary by Jay Smooth on all sorts of subjects. Short clips, current events and topics, sensible opinions, and good points made. I'll be back to watch more. And oh yeah, its entertaining too.

That should be set up tomorrow, Terri!

I actually think that Cam and Dash interview was pretty embarrasing because Bill O'Reilly's arguments were obviously flawed, but Cam and Dash just seemed to help his arguments rather hurt them.

Posted by: a.one at August 20, 2007 11:13 AM

you're the king jay.

Posted by: julien at August 20, 2007 3:36 PM

O'Reilly is such a joke...i'm suprised you didn't bring up the sexual harrasement case a few years back Jay.

Posted by: HipHopRemix at August 20, 2007 3:57 PM

just a regular viewer leaving some feedback. Your blog's intelligent and funny and I've enjoyed following it semi-frequently for the last month or two. Also that's really cool that your step dad played with Mr. Roach, his recent death was a great loss but thankfully he'll live on through his music. Much love and shit, keep up the good work.

Posted by: Names at August 21, 2007 2:23 AM

Great vlog Jay. I was going to research the point about the other bands also having songs that contain 'violent, gangsterish' lyrics and you have shown it...I think this reflects upon American TV News on a whole - people are not given the chance to make up their own minds. The whole argument is not presented...you're either with the news reader or you're scum!

Posted by: Gezzius at August 21, 2007 4:05 AM

Extremely well -done; informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work.... I found you the other day because I was just curious as to what other former theglobe.comers were doing. Keep them coming. Do you still keep in touch with anyone? Tiffany? I still email Anna and Shan. That's it... I will email them your blog.

shame on you all for even addressing this subject. this guy is a moron and people who watch his show are generally stupid as well (tinyurl.com/rnot9). bill orally is an entertainer selling cheeseburger flavored news.

Posted by: spanish jay at August 21, 2007 1:47 PM

Ok, the idiot B.O. got Nas' name wrong, but why did the guy representing the opposing (ie hip hop's) view pronounce it the same way???

Posted by: chuck at August 22, 2007 4:45 AM

I think the key to success in an O'reilly show is to choose a sentence, one sentence, and only one, with your message. And then just repeat it through the whole "interview".

This is hot dogg. I need the embed code so I can post this on My Urban Report.

Posted by: A.man.I at August 22, 2007 9:00 AM

If O'Reilly actually "listened" to Nas, he would know that he's one of the most intellectual rappers in the rap game and isn't your typical drug/guns/bling rapper that the mainstream stuffs down our throats everyday. Have Bill listen to Black Girl Lost, I Can, What Goes Around and even I Gave You Power...that'll shut his trap up. BTW, keep up the good work Jay.

Posted by: Rio at August 27, 2007 6:12 PM

This once again highlights just how out of touch B.O. is with reality and even his own arguments. He's like a joke with no punchline, pointless.

Posted by: EST at September 1, 2007 9:32 AM

well put together... there were some good points. but at the end when you were referencing when bill was asking about nas' gun charge on the show you took away from your arguement big time.... you were trying to change the subject just like the dude on the show was. to get the respect that we (hip-hop) deserve we have to meet his arguments head on. i would have loved to see a rebuttal along the lines of "Mr. Oreily, it isnt the same thing to grow up in suburban america as it is to grow up in poverty in queens new york.... murders and drug dealers walk the streets all night and day. To carry some sort of weapon to protect you and your family is a choice that every person who grew up in the ghetto has to make."

billo is dead... hows that for a tshirt slogan...

I didn't realise anyone still watched TV?
still.. it's entertaining to see the death throws of mainstream media and information control....

Posted by: Bitcloud at September 12, 2007 8:32 AM

brilliant! man, i wish you could get on his show, now that would be hilarious!

Posted by: jason reynolds at September 12, 2007 11:28 PM

Next he'll be condemning Rakim for using the word "magnum" in a song...This joker should be off the air

Posted by: wwzyx at October 25, 2007 7:16 PM

I used to hate Bill O'Reilly. Then I started watching him. I realized he's smart and insightful. And less radical and more middle of the road than most (who don't watch him) would give him credit for.

What a bunch of ill informed, name calling butt bleeders.

Of course I mean that in the kindest sense, my niggah.
