booyah, internet!

The first hip-hop podcast, J? What about Eric Parker, Rafi and Dallas, SOHH TV, Allhiphop's video wrap up, DBrad, and the hip-hop cooking show?

Posted by: Hashim at June 15, 2007 3:31 AM

Hashim, you don't know the difference between a podcast and a videoblog?? I thought you stayed up on things. :)

Not that I ascribe much relevance to this kind of thing, but my marketing department assures me this is the only website currently identifying itself as a hip-hop videoblog.

(You could make a case for the good peoples at My Urban Report, but I think they define themselves more broadly.)

I need to add "the first..." to my profile.

Perhaps "The first hip-hop blogger to not make money through Adsense".

Or "the first hip-hop blogger out argued on cable tv"

Posted by: Hashim at June 16, 2007 10:49 AM

the streets: you mad, doggie? :)

I like your site, but as far as I can see it's a blog that posts other people's music videos..there are indeed quite a few of those, including my site Tuberaider which started in January 2006. But that's not what people generally mean by "videoblog" or "vlog."

so any way like I was saying.. FIRST!

(nah, I actually really don't care about being first, but I'm glad the discussion is introducing me to the good things other people are doing... like this dude for example who is next level genius.)

Jay-
wish this had broken while you were in The ATL-

There's a fascinating, if very, very dark, story taking shape down here. Just outside of the town where I live in 1946, two sharecropper families were dragged from a car and lynched. Dog bites man, right? I mean, we all know that horrible shit happened down thisaway a LOT.

Well.

Looks like the governor ordered that shit.

Might make for an interesting vlog.

There's been some talk about a re-enactment in Late July to call attention to the Governor's culpability in the crime.

Justice.

This is one aging hip-hop fan looking forward to hearing another aging hip-hop fan's opinion on the state of the artform today. Peace.
